I have been making and wearing costumes since I was a small child. Growing up on stage in dance, musical theater, and opera, I was fascinated by the transformation that occurs once a performer puts on a costume. Despite my love of the arts, I pursued a career in dentistry. I honed my fabrication skills with obsessive attention to detail, and concern for fit and comfort. My favorite day of the year is Halloween, when I can bring some levity and fun to the dental office. Each year, my costumes became larger and more involved and my excitement for costuming grew. Having been the worst part of everyone’s day for many years as a dentist, I decided to refocus on my first love and dive into costume making in a serious (but fun!) way.
